Hilton Head Recap

Happy Tuesday Lovies!

My Hubs and I took a little vacay/babymoon to Hilton Head last week. It was wonderful! Neither one of us have ever been to Hilton Head which is one of the reasons we picked this place. I also didn't feel comfortable flying anywhere. I also said my max time in the car should be around 5 hours so that kinda limited our options but I really think this was perfect!

We arrived on Thursday. Love little towel animals and creations! These remind me of all the cruises we used to take when I was younger. I used to love to come back to our room to find what they had created for the night!

My Hubs suggested I have some fun and relaxation at the spa. I wondered what was up because he's not usually that ready to spend that kind of money. Well he wanted to have a morning playing golf. Either way.. I was totally ok with it! The prenatal massage was just what I needed!

We stayed at the Omni resort and they have several restaurants on site. I had this salad and it delicious! It was huge! Very impressed.

We actually stayed by the pool but we did venture out to check out the beach for a few. It was gorgeous out!
Hotel room selfie around dinner. I was sad I didn't take any pictures at the restaurant HH Prime. I had their crabcakes which were amazing. My Hubs ordered their steak (medium rare..sigh) and swore it was the best steak he's had (even about Ruth Chris, Angus Barn, and Flemings!).

My Hubs took this picture at the adult only pool. It was nice having an adults only option. Soon enough we won't get to enjoy that feature anymore. Ha!

I thought this bike station was super cute! It was outside the general store we ventured to one night.

We called a shuttle to take us to Alexandra's on our last night. The food was amazing! My Hubs had the mahi. I decided to try the stuffed shrimp. We also started off with some calamari which I failed to document. We were miserably full when we left but it was all soo amazing!

I did remember to ask one of the staff to snap a picture of us on our way back to our room. YAY! I finally remembered.. Boo to the fact that's it dark. The lighting was terrible! Oh well.. At least i tried right?! We definitely enjoyed our little vacay. It's always nice to just get away with my Hubs. It was VERY hard coming back to reality.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Lovies!

Where did the weekend go?! I am super grateful that this is a 4 day work week for me. I'm ready for some beach time. :)

Our weekend was good but super busy! This Momma crashed at 8:30pm last night. Friday night was very low key. Household chores and baked spaghetti dinner. My Hubs LOVES baked spaghetti and I swear could eat it every night. Luckily it's easy.

Saturday was errands and then our super sweet neighbors threw us a Babies and BBQ party/shower. 3 of us ladies in the neighborhood are preggo. They are due early and late August. I was expecting a party more than a shower. I was SHOCKED at all the gifts. I swear we have the BEST neighbors EVER. Their generosity and kindness never ceases to amaze me. We are so lucky to live here!

Sorry the overall picture is upside down but you get the idea. BLESSED!

The hostesses with the Moms to be.

The Moms to be.. We're having a BOY, a GIRL, and TWO BOYs added to the neighborhood!

My Hubs is a Duke fan. I'm a State fan and so are most of our friends/family so we have a lot of NC State hammy downs for the boys. This is their very first Duke anything. My Hubs was SUPER excited!

One of my sweet neighbors gifted me these coordinating outfits! I'm in love.. so something I would pick out.

Sunday was a baseball themed baby shower for one of our dear friends expecting a sweet boy in July. Of course I failed to take any pictures! The menu was pigs in a blanket, 3 different types of popcorn, fruit tray, baseball cupcakes, and ice cream! I had to sneak out a little early to head to the next party of the day but I hope they got lost of good stuff!

Sunday afternoon was a surprise birthday party for my step FIL's sister. She is turning 50 this week. Again epic fail on the pictures. Being pregnant and tired doesn't help but I've always been a little slack with the pictures. I did manage to get a picture of this delicious and cute cake! Stephen, my step brother in law.. is that even a thing?!.. made. He's sooo talented! He makes cakes, floral arrangements (he did all our stuff for our wedding!), decorating.. you name it.. he can do it!

I'll be back tomorrow with a recap from our vacay/baby moon. Happy Monday! Linking up with Biana for Weekending!

23 Weeks

Happy Friday Lovies!
Sorry this is a bit late. Vacation was too good and coming back to reality has been a bit harder than I thought. Better late than never though. Here we go!

how far along: 23 weeks!

size of the babies: Size of papayas!

total weight gain:  15 lbs overall.. It's coming fast these days!

gender: TWO BOYS!!!

maternity clothes: 100% minus a few maxi dresses that are regular sizes.

stretch marks: Yep- on my hips.. boo!!

movement: while on vacay I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri.. they both went nuts kicking and punching. I usually only drink water so I think they had sugar overload in there.

sleep: Sleeping is so so..I toss and turn a lot because my hips get sore or I wake up on my back and my legs are numb (fun times!). I also have to pee at least 2-3 times a night.

missing: Deli meat and fun cocktails.

have you told friends/family: Yep! Everyone should know by now. If you see me, you know I'm preggo. Can't hide the bump anymore.

cravings/aversions: chocolate ice cream with almonds or blueberries lately. Still watermelon and now special K cereal.

symptoms: I have to pee ALL the time! Heartburn at night can be hectic sometimes now.

cries: I seriously tear up at EVERYTHING.. Tuesday I woke up in a funk. I didn't sleep well, felt terrible, had a mishap with fabric for the boys quilts, and found out some heart breaking news for a friend. I was a mess all day long!

labor signs: No

belly button in or out: I think it's starting to poke out a bit.

wedding rings on or off: Well.. I say on. My fingers have swollen a couple of times this week since the humidity is out of control around here. I've been able to take them off for a few and put them back on. Who knows how long this will last.

the hubs is: finally thinking it's two boys. Also working on names.. probably going to keep them a secret just because of some negative comments previously when we threw out names.

babies are: per the ultrasound one boy is 1.5lbs and the other is 1.7lbs. per what to expect- they are about to chub up a bit. Their saggy skin will start to fit their frames as fat deposits fill things out. Beginning this week they will start to pack on the pounds (which means i will too!) and by month's end they'll be double in the weight they are now.

looking forward to: Seeing the nursery come together and our many showers. We have the best friends and family!

best moments: Our vacay/babymoon. I didn't want to come home! It was wonderful!

Thoughts for Thursday- Gender Reveal Party Photo Dump

Happy Thursday Lovies!

I finally got the gender reveal pictures back from my MIL. I'm so excited to share these with you today. My Hubs actually picked the elephant invites and I just ran with it from there. I loved how everything turned out. The party was so much fun but I seriously blinked and it was over! Now I'm going to overload with the pictures celebrating our little peanuts!

If you made it through all that, bless you! I hope you enjoyed a glimpse at our gender reveal. As you can see the finally tallies that most thought we were having one of each but a close second were two boys. We are over the moon that TWO BOYs are on the way!

size of the babies: Size of spaghetti squash!

total weight gain:  11 lbs overall.. EEKKK! The doctor assured me that I'm doing well.

gender: TWO BOYS!!!

maternity clothes: 100% minus a few maxi dresses that are regular sizes.

stretch marks: Yep- on my hips.. boo!!

movement: still random kicks and pokes. the doctor said with two I have less room so I may feel them less.

sleep: Sleeping is so so..I toss and turn a lot because my hips get sore or I wake up on my back and my legs are numb (fun times!). I also have to pee at least 2-3 times a night.

missing: I really wanted a mojito at the Mason Jar Tavern. Oh well.. something to look forward to.
have you told friends/family: Yep! Everyone should know by now. If you see me, you know I'm preggo. Can't hide the bump anymore.

cravings/aversions: chocolate ice cream with almonds or blueberries lately. Still watermelon and now special K cereal.

the hubs is: trying to keep me calm. Childcare prices are freaking me out lately. He's also looking forward to our vacay/baby moon!

babies are: weighing in at a whopping 1lb. each and nearly eight inches each. Our little boys now have eyebrows, eyelashes, and maybe even some hair on those little heads (if old wives tales are correct then I'm betting one or both have some hair due to my heartburn lately). They can perceive light and dark now. They can hear my heartbeat, gurgling stomach, and the sound of my blood circulating. And as their brains develop they may reach out just to experiment with their new found sense of touch.

best moments: Looking forward to our vacation/baby moon this week!

#BREAK YOU MAKE

Happy Monday!

Chobani Flips contacted me about participating in their #BreakYouMake campaign. This is to honor someone in your life that could use a break this summer. I was very honored to be contacted. This is my first kind of post participating in something like this. I immediately knew who I wanted to honor with this post, my Mom. My Mom is super Mom. I can only hope I'm half the Mom she is to our boys. My Mom works full time, keeps up the house, makes dinner 2-3 nights a week, and still finds time to be there for friends, family, and people in the community. She's amazing. She's always thinking of ours before herself. Even when visiting my house she never just sits and chats, she's always trying to help out around the house or do something for me. Literally she comes to visit and my laundry is done, my dishes are clean, and she's done some odd and end things around my house. I don't know how she does it. She's like the energizer bunny!

Perfect Example of how my Mom is daily- My Gender Reveal Party. My Mom volunteered to cook chicken breasts and legs to help my husband out as well baked beans. She gets there, helps me set up, fixes my nieces hair for her dance recital that night, cleans my ENTIRE kitchen and organizes all the leftovers into take home containers for everyone, and then proceeds to clean the rest of my house until I yell at her to come sit a minute. She may drive me crazy sometimes but I'm blessed to call her my Mom. She definitely deserves a break! :) Who in your life deserves a break? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thoughts on Thursday-Rambles

Happy Thursday Lovies!

How is today not Friday yet?! I've seriously been spoiled with 4 day work weeks lately. My mind is all over the place these days so here are some things on my mind.

+ I'm sooo looking forward to our vacation/baby moon next week. Words can not describe how I have been looking forward to it! We're headed to Hilton Head for a few days just the Hubs and I. He's playing golf and I booked a spa day. YAY!

+ We agree on zero on what to name these boys. I am making my Hubs make a list of his top names and I'm doing the same. I figured in the car ride to and from Hilton Head maybe we can narrow down and possibly agree on something. Lord help us! Our vacay might not be as relaxing as I hope.

+ I have absolutely no motivation at work these days. Or on important things for that matter. I want to shop, decorate, and prepare for the babies. I don't want to do anything else. Is that too much to ask?!

+ If I don't slow down on the spending my Hubs has threatened to take away my credit card. I'm usually super anal about spending. I always pay off all credit cards by month end. Right now I have the mind set of it's for the babies or we need to get this done before the babies arrive then it's ok. IDK.. It'll be ok. It's nothing too crazy but definitely out of my norm. I think I'm making my Hubs nervous.

+ We are soo incredibly blessed to have friends and family giving us their hammy down clothes. One of bestie's gave me her son's stuff this week. Holy clothes! Soo blessed but slightly overwhelmed. See why I want to be at home now?

+ Yesterday I had my doctor's appointment. My next appointment is in 2 weeks! How am I already at 2 week appointment (twins have accelerated schedules) times? 7 weeks until I'm at 28 weeks and out of the danger zone. I'll be glad to hit that milestone so I will know if these boys decide to do something crazy they will be ok. They will have to be in the NICU for awhile but they will still be ok. (Mama worries already setting in!)

the hubs is: kinda of in denial that it's two boys. He keeps telling me we should have a girl outfit on back up. SMH! LOL..

babies are: able to taste a bit of what I'm eating this week. They are swallowing a bit of amniotic fluid each day for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting.

looking forward to: Seeing the nursery come together and our many showers. We have the best friends and family!

best moments: Finding out that we're having two boys!
