Germs!

Happy Monday Lovies!

Sorry I have been a horrible blogger lately. The Hubs has had this viral/cold crap since we got back from Savannah. He also decided to share this with me. Bleck!

Saturday we had tickets to Beericana. It was this craft beer, music, and food truck event in Holly Springs. The food was delicious, especially the cupcakes! The beer was good and so was the company.

We had a good time but I think we over did it. The Hubs woke up at 4am Sunday coughing like crazy. So we didn't leave the house at all yesterday. Just resting and trying to get over this viral plague that has infected our house. I've managed to wash everything in hopes of killing all germs. Hoping to make this week a better one than last! :)

I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!

My Rant..

Do you ever have days where you scream at people all day? I had one of these days yesterday. Even though you're so annoyed and mad, it just feels good sometimes to get it all out!

1- Merchants Tire- Thanks for the putting the wrong weighted oil in my car. I really appreciate all the crazy check engine lights I've been seeing and scaring the crap out of me! Thank goodness my Hubs is great at car stuff. He and Advanced Auto determined that it was the wrong weighted oil causing my sensors to go off. Now if was just me, I would have taken this back and they would have most likely come up with some crap story and charged me a ton of money. Now why is it that car places see a woman and think- let's screw her over?! Let's just say I let them have it this morning. They quickly got me in and out of there without a charge or much conversation. I also informed them that I continue to have issues, I will be sending the bill from the next auto mechanic place.

2- Chrysler/Jeep- Thanks for sending me a recall notice that the ignition if tapped ever so slightly while driving could shut off the engine. I've had this happen twice on 540 and I freaked out! My Hubs and parents thought I was nuts. Well I'm not crazy but now you tell me?! Even better, I called the dealership to schedule my recall appointment and well ma'am we don't have the parts to fix that yet so just be careful. You have got to be kidding me?! So if I die in a car accident please sue the crap out of Chrylser/Jeep because didn't fix my car. I'm documenting this for legal purposes, kidding! NOT KIDDING!

3- Insurance Company- Why must you make things so hard!? I need a prescription. My doctor prescribed this- just fill it and cover it! I mean why must you make my life hard?! I have enough going on as it is to argue with you people. I pay way more than I should for insurance and if my physician says this is the medication I need and there isn't a substitute, just cover it! This prior authorization, filling out forms, jumping through hoops.. well.. is for the birds!

4- Work- Last but not least work pettiness! Every morning I make my breakfast and most days lunch at the office. We have a little kitchen with a refriegerator, 2 microwaves, a toaster, a toaster oven, dishwasher, and Keurig. I go to make my lunch yesterday and no silverware. It's all been taken out. All the plates, containers, and mugs too. WTF?! This office doesn't provide many perks these days and I just wanted a dang fork! I know some people are lazy and leave their containers in the sink for the fairies around here to come clean it up. I'm not one of them. I don't want the entire office punished for a few idiots. I found the items and put them all back. I'm sure I've ruffled a few feathers but that's my 2 cents on the subject. Life's too short not to have a fork! LOL..
I'm sure everyone is more than thrilled to hear my bitching today but it just feels good to type it as well. I hope everyone has a great hump day! :)

More on Savannah

Happy Tuesday Lovies!

I figured breaking up our trip would save from post over load! No such luck, Ha! Beware of a long post!

Friday we got an early start and decided to take on overview trolley tour of the city. It was only 90 minutes but it gave us an overview of where everything was located and then we could venture out on our own. We took a few pictures of buildings, walked around, and set out for lunch. A high school friend of mine recommended The Public for lunch. Their sandwiches were amazing! I had the cuban and the Hubs had the chicken/bacon/ranch. We decided to try their strawberry shortcake too! I wasn't a fan but the Hubs enjoyed it!

The rain set in for the afternoon/night and we made our way back to the hotel. They have a free happy hour from 5-6:30. We took full advantage of this since the rain headed our way. We didn't have any dinner reservations for that night so we decided to just go to Huey's in our hotel. It's a New Orleans style place. The Hubs loved their gumbo and oyster po boy. I had their crabcakes. Their benigets were amazing!!!

We loved that our room overlooked the river. We could open our balcony and hear music from the bars below. Best way to enjoy some drinks!

Saturday we headed out to wander around again. We decided to go into St. John the Baptist Catholic church. These pictures don't do this church justice- it was beautiful!!! A baptism was actually in progress but we were still allowed to walk around quietly.

We stopped by Leopold's recommended to us by a college friend. I love some ice cream so it was right up my alley!

We also stumbled across this convenient stores called Parker's. Loved it! Of course I needed a picture here- the Hubs declined. Ha!

We stopped by the Distillery to enjoy a beverage or too! This place was really neat and I loved all the cute sayings and chalkboards!

We had dinner reservations at the Olde Pink House. This came highly recommended by my boss and just about everyone I talked to when planning this vacay! It did not disappointment. The scorched flounder was amazing!! Of course I was in love with the chocolate torte oblivion! Best food here! If you're ever in Savannah- make plans to eat here!

I was sad to get up Sunday morning. I did not want to head back to reality! But all good things must come to an end.. So long Savannah- I hope to see you again soon!

Sorry for the major picture overload! I tried to selective but it's soo hard! I hope everyone is having a good week!

I'm Back!

Happy Monday Lovies! I can't believe it's Monday again. I know think I say that every week! We just got back from a MUCH needed mini vacay in Savannah. So let's get to it!

Wednesday night we had our last social at the club for the year. It was a full on meal! Lasagna, zuchinni, bread, and dessert. It was amazing! The centerpieces on the table made my day! Love these- I had to share!

Thursday we got up and headed to Savannah. I was dreading the drive looking forward to the trip! I don't tend to do well on long trips. I can't sit still for that long! Ha! The drive actually went much faster than I anticipated. It also didn't hurt that we stopped for breakfast and lunch along the way. We were there, checked in, settled, and off to some bars by 2:30! Success!!

Thursday night we had dinner reservations at Paula Deen's- Lady and Son's- restaurant. It was really good. It wasn't really up to what I was expecting but I mean we live in the south and eat this kind of stuff everyday so I'm not sure what I was expecting. The Hubs loved the ribs. I loved the garlic cheese bread and banana pudding!

We were miserable after that huge dinner. We decided to rest up for a full day on Friday. I will be back tomorrow with some more highlights and pictures of our trip!

Have a good Monday!

Weekending

Happy Tuesday Lovies!

This is a 3 day work week for me so bring it on! I ended up taking my shoes back to Target and purchasing the TOMs. Thanks for everyone's sweet comments and emails! I really appreciate them all. I'm slowly making some progress around this little house of ours and I hope to have some pictures soon. I feel pretty good overall. I'm having living room furniture placement and picture nonsense to conquer and I just can't decide what I want to do. More on this later.

We had a very LOW key weekend. Hopes of closing down our pool in style were quickly drenched as the rain came down. Oh well.. so long pool until next year! We don't have too much report. Our sweet neighbor gifted us some bread. It was amazing! She's working on starting her own business. We'll be her taste testers any day.

Saturday was rainy and just kinda a lazy day. A neighbor came over for a crockpot dinner. Those are the best! Epic fail that I didn't take any pictures of the pork tenderloin or mac and cheese. Sunday the Hubs played golf and I slept in. I worked on fall decorations. I am loving my little Halloween tree.

My MIL and step FIL came by for a take out dinner and chat for a bit. Very relaxing weekend!

I apologize for my lack of blogging and attitude. I've had a lot going on lately personally. I hope to be up to talking more about it soon. I also am having to say goodbye to two of my favorite co-workers. I'm very happy for them but just sad to see them go. One has been with me since day 1! She had already been with the company but started in the same office I did on the same day. It's going to be hard not seeing her around but I know we will keep in touch.

I'm hoping to come back from this little vacay with my hubby refreshed! T minus 1 day until Savannah bound!

FRIDAY... Fall Holidays!

Happy Friday LOVIES!

I'm seriously on the countdown until vacation. It can not get here fast enough! :) I know I know that I seem to rush every holiday but this is my favorite time of the year! Here are some things I'm looking forward to..

1- Decorating my Halloween tree. Yes I just said Halloween tree. It's tiny but super cute. I'm thinking I might start on this this weekend. I can't wait to post some pictures.

2- Pumpkins and Mums! I've already put my fall wreath out and I'm working on some fake pumpkins in my lanterns but I can't WAIT for pumpkins and Mums. I am trying to restrain myself so they will be pretty for Halloween but it's soo hard!

3- Halloween- I can NOT contain my excitement! Our neighborhood is slam packed full of kiddos. I can't wait to greet each and everyone of them in their adorable costumes! I was sooo sad last year that we moved in after Halloween. We also missed our neighborhoods haunted trail. I am really hoping they do this again this year. I am debating about getting a costume. We've been invited to a costume party that I really want to go to this year. I love a theme and a reason to dress up! I debated dressing up our dog, Kasey but the Hubs will probably squash that idea! Hahaha..

4- Thanksgiving. Ok so I'm not as excited about this holiday. I don't really like the food at Thanksgiving. Seriously.. My Grandma on my Dad's side always makes us Chicken n' Dumplings because there are quite a few on my side that aren't the biggest fans of turkey and ham. I do look forward to the desserts and seeing my family. I'm going to try a new approach this year. I want to focus on what I'm thankful for.. not the food.

5- CHRISTMAS! I mean does this holiday need to be explained! I'm already plotting Christmas tree designs this year. YES I have multiple trees! I love each and everyone. They all have a theme. I think I  may shake some up a bit this year. I love all the parties, church services, and just being around the ones that you love. Presents are great but I seriously think people focus way too much on presents. Maybe I focus too much on decorating but I love it! I almost cry every year when it's time to take it all down.

Thoughts for Thursday

Happy Thursday Lovies!

This week has seriously been a fog- thanks allergies! I didn't prepare a post before hand so this is going to be very random..

I'm in shock that it's been 13 years since 9/11. It still feels like yesterday. I will never forget that eerie feeling of that entire day. I was a freshman at Meredith. I had just gotten back from my 7:30am calculus (I don't know what I was thinking signing up for this class!). I had fallen back into bed since I didn't have another class until 11. Our dorm phone kept ringing. I finally stumbled out of bed to answer. It was my Mom. She told me to turn on the TV. I did and I felt like this a joke.. a movie.. this can't be real! I walk outside our dorm and there are swarms of people! All classes had been released and would be cancelled for the rest of the day. We had barely been at school at month but we all huddled into the parlors and continued to watch TV. We all grew much closer that day. I don't think anyone will ever forget that day. My heart and prayers go out to the ones that witnessed or had family members involved.

I still can't believe Joan Rivers is no longer with us. That was one hysterically funny and crazy lady! Fashion Police will NEVER be the same. I also had no idea she was 81. I guess plastic surgery does work wonders. RIP Joan Rivers.. you will be missed!

I think I'm already in vacation mode. Well not give a d@mn mode is probably more like it. We're headed to Savannah next week and I am so ready to be there. Usually I'm WAY more organized and have a schedule and things all mapped out. Well I haven't done anything but make 2 dinner reservations that I made months ago. I haven't even looked at the weather. I've been kinda out of my usual self lately. I'm hoping these few days away with my hubby will help me snap back into myself, reality, or whatever.

Sorry this post is so depressing.. wow I didn't plan on going that way. Any who.. Have a good Thursday!

Rainy Monday Morning

Happy Monday Lovies!

It's pouring rain and gloomy here. It was all I could do to get out of bed. These are the mornings I would rather lay in bed and be lazy!

Friday the Hubs called me at work and sent me this picture. A concrete something (I loose him with technical details.. LOL!) smashed his finger. His finger was swollen and bruised but luckily his ring took the brunt and actually saved his finger. So Friday night was spent at the jeweler getting his ring fixed!

Saturday was a lazy morning around the house. The Hubs decided to go shoot sport clays and meet up with some guy friends for dinner. I headed to Raleigh for some shopping (supposedly Christmas) and to meet my parents/grandparents for dinner. Can I just say I totally blew that whole no spending on myself in September out of the water! I did score some Christmas presents but I was over the moon that I scored this DVF dress at TJ Maxx.. yes TJ Maxx!

I stopped by Fresh Market to pick up a few things and stumbled across this! I have never seen Mimosas in a bottle premade. Has anyone tried these?? I will be trying them out shortly and will let you know what I think.

Sunday my parents came over and my Mom cut and colored my hair.. pictures to come soon. While she was there she helped me with my wreaths! I love them all! The summer one she made earlier but the fall and Halloween ones are new! I totally put the fall one up last night. I wanted to put my lanterns out and move the flowers but the rain stopped me. More to come soon but check these wreaths! My Mom is so good at this stuff, I totally did NOT get this gene.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Have a good Monday!
