Thoughts for Thursday- One week until Thanksgiving!

How is it we're sitting at one week until Thanksgiving?! I swear time is flying these past few weeks and there just isn't enough time. Even scarier.. we're 35 days from Christmas!

I'm trying to decide what I want to make food wise for Christmas this year. Thanksgiving is a given, I'll be making my crockpot mac and cheese.

I'm sure I'll be making this for Christmas eve dinner as well but I'm thinking I should make some snacks and desserts just because.

I made this yummy toffee pretzel bark once before. I am thinking it might have to make another appearance.

Or maybe these oatmeal balls I made for a cookout this summer.
Peanut Butter Oat Balls from www.themessybakerblog.com

I attempted pimento cheese straws last year. They tasted really good but were a little more like cookies than straws.

As you can see I'm thinking more desserts than snacks. I'd love to hear what you make for the holidays as snacks! Have a good Thursday lovies!

Favorite Things Link Up

Happy Tuesday Lovies!

I kinda jumped the gun and already posted my Christmas wishlist that I gave to my MIL and Hubs. There are always a fun other things I want so I'm going to post a few additional things and see if anyone in my family actually read my blog!

Brown Herringbone 5 Pack

1- Emi Jay Hair Ties.. I haven't tried these yet but have read nothing but rave reviews. I hope to get these in my stocking!

Women's ColdGear® Infrared Legging, Black Women's UA Fleece Headband, AQUEDUCT
2- Fleeced lined workout gear- leggings, jacket, and headband. It's hard for me to get motivated to walk/run in the cold but if I had some fleece lined workout gear I might try and give it a shot.

3- Painting of Our House- I don't know why but I'm obsessed with having a little print of our house done. Maybe because it's our first house together but I think it would be a good item to add to a collage I've been brainstorming.

allen + roth 36-in W Rubbed Bronze Steel Wood-Burning Fire Pit
4- Firepit. (So I actually asked the Hub's Dad and step Mom for this for both of us). Back in October we took a little mountain trip with the Hub's Mom, step Dad and family. That house had so many fire places and I loved it! Sitting outside and roasting marshmellows was so much fun. So I've been on a kick of wanting a firepit ever since. I also want one that doubles as a table so in the spring/summer it can be useful for BBQs too!

5- Tory Burch Kellen Flat Tory Burch Kellen Flats. I love a pointy toe and I love Tory Burch so win win.. Maybe Santa will bring these if I'm extra good this year!

6- Tory Burch Chase Metallic Ballet Flat Tory Burch Reva Ballet Flat
I'm also really in love with these with a bow! I've also been eyeing these metallic printed Reva Ballet flats. BONUS..they are both on SALE!!

I can't wait to see what's on everyone's wish list! Have a great Tuesday!

Five Confessions this Friday!

Happy Friday Lovies!

This week has FLOWN by! I guess that's what happens when you're on off work on Monday and Tuesday. I couldn't get myself together quick enough to post before now. I thought I would post some confessions since it's been awhile since I've done that.

1- I confess that I have already ordered, received, address, stuffed, and stamped all my Christmas cards. These babies are just waiting to be mailed. I know I know.. I'm OCD.. but hey Shutterfly had 50% off the week of Halloween and I had a coupon too! I'm over the moon for our cards this year. My Hubs actually picked out our outfits and card design. He is determined they will be "Christmasy". My MIL took our pictures and love them! So blessed to have photography talent in family! I can't wait to share soon!

2- I confess I set up our 9ft and 7.5ft trees last weekend. I haven't decorated them yet but I'm working on it. Our house is total wreck right now with decor and oranments spread out everywhere but I love it!

3- I confess I totally swamped out my china to our Christmas china already. I even set the table!

Please excuse all the boxes around the table. I was unpacking Christmas decor as well! :)

I LOVE my Christmas china. My sweet god- Grandma started this for me a few years ago. I added the missing pieces to our wedding registry so now we have a 12 piece place setting and serving pieces!

4- I confess I'm kinda not looking forward to the Duke versus Virginia Tech football game this weekend. I'm usually so excited to tailgate and head to a game but it's supposed to be cold.. like freezing cold tomorrow. This is not my kind of tailgating weather at ALL! I am hoping a few cocktails will keep me warm! It's a 12pm game so some mimosas may be on hand. I might be the last person on earth to know this but I had no idea you could buy mimosas already premade in cans!!! I totally wish I known this before my wedding festivies! This picture was taken at Total Wine.

5- I confess I may or may not have already started wrapping Christmas presents.. My Hubs just shakes his head at me. Why not? I mean I already have the gifts so might as well wrap them and be done! I know I sound like I rush things but I don't like shopping in crowds or standing in lines. I also like to enjoy the actual holidays and parties. I don't want to be thinking about the other gifts and etc I need to do instead of living in the moment so to speak. Now I can just relax and welcome all the choas with open arms!

Happy Friday Lovies! I hope you have a good weekend!

Five on Friday- My Christmas Wishlist

Happy Friday Lovies! I'm especially exicted about this weekend because my weekend is 4 days long!!! Tuesday is Veterans Day so I decided to use a vacation day for Monday and have a long weekend. :) Here are 5 things on my Christmas wishlist this year! Can you believe Christmas is only 48 days aways?! Crazy!

1- A dutch oven. I actually enjoy cooking when I have the time and I've found so many recipes that need a dutch oven. I can't believe I don't already own one.

2- Hunter rain boots. I seriously want to jump on this bandwagon!! My fat calves won't let me get the regular ones but I'm in love with these gloss black adjustable back ones. I tried them on in Nordstrom the other day and I love them!

3- Greek Engraved KeychainI haven't bought a new keychains in YEARS!! I mean the NC State one I have is starting to fray on the ends. I bought this before I started dating my now husband.  I really like the Moon and Lola round ones. I would love it in a mirrored gold with my monogram. I think the round will be easier to find in my bottomless pit of a purse!

4- I'm obsessed with this multicolored dots reisenthal market basket. I actually already have a black market basket but it has my old monogram on it. I would love this in my new monogram in a red scripty font. I am slowly trying to replace all my old mongrammed things and I think this adorable!

5- Slippers/Bedroom shoes.. I don't really know what I want in these. I have a pair of zebra slippers that I've had.. since HIGH SCHOOL! They are coming apart and having holes in them. I want something adult, cozy, and warm but I haven't decided just yet what they should be. I'm open to thoughts and suggestions.

What's on your Christmas wishlist? Happy Friday Lovies!

Thoughts for Thursday.. Retail Therapy!

What does any normal girl do when she's had a bad day? Well this one shops! It's dangerous I tell ya! I've really been trying to buckle down and not spend money on myself or clothes in general this year. We just built a house and I've been spending most of my timing trying to decorate it the way I want it. I'm soooo close! (I still need to take pictures to share! I also may need some help/opinions on my last few touches.) I've had a mountain of medical bills and other things going on so I've just been trying to be good. Well I got a friends and family coupon from Banana Republic yesterday morning. Banana Republic has been my go to for years especially for work clothes. I have their Luxe card and luxe card memebers got to shop yesterday before it was open to the public. I immediately called to see if they had a vest I've been eyeing.. and THEY DID!! Off to the mall during my lunch I went. I also found a few other things to add to bag since they were 50% and I had reward coupons and all. They are offering 50% up to 5 purchases (can only be used one time) and 40% online.

I am beyond obsessed with this vest! the beige sweater is a great neutral to add to my wardrobe, it also has cute litte gold zippers on the shoulders.

The red shirt was $18!! It was on clearance. It has cute little quilted shoulders too!

I couldn't decided on the red or it's actuall maroon but it's photographing pink silk shirt. I didn't have time to try them on so I just bought both and I'll take the one back later.

I can not tell you how much I love this Sloan pants! I already own them in black, navy, khaki, beige, colbat blue, and emerald green. I was excited to add these grey ones to my collection!

A trip to Southpoint isn't complete without popping in the C Wonder store. It's the only one around- the other malls have pretty much the same stores but C Wonder is only at Southpoint. They had the entire store 30% and 50% all markdowns. I picked up these beauty for $30! Houndstooth just reminds me of Christmas for some reason.

I definitely should have been a little easier on the wallet but I think I found some great things and face it- shopping just makes everyone in a good mood!

Halloween Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Lovies!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween! Our weekend was packed full of good neighbors and good times! Friday a lady in my office brought in home made cupcakes. I actually didn't try these but check out her art work.. I'm impressed!

I decided to semi dress up for work and trick or treating. I bought a witch hat at Target for $3 and just wore all black. It was fun to look somewhat festival. The Hubs took a picture of me waiting to hand out candy. We had an estimated 75 trick or treaters! They were all super cute. I loved checking out their costumes.

After trick or treating we headed over to a neighbors for appetizers and drinks. They have a precious litte girl that was a mouse for the night. Here is my Hubs holding the cutest little mouse! Epic fall that I didn't take any pictures of our amazing food and drink spread. The hostess did an excellent job! I also didn't get any pictures of the adults. We were having too much fun to think about pictures.

Saturday was cold and rainy here. I volunteered at my church's great day of service. Then came home and was glued to the couch. Lazy day overall! Sunday was our neighborhood cookout. Despite the chilly wind a good time was had! Here is a preview.. our pig!

A bouncy slide was provided for the kiddos. They had a blast going up and down that thing for hours!

This was pretty early in the food line up. We had so much more! It was all delicious!

I decided to have a little wine and didn't want to bring glass out there.I just took my Meredith tervis tumbler.. Classy.. I know!

These two cuties were precious! The little one was all bundled up in her stroller and the 3 year old loved posing around here. They were little hams! I think they enjoyed teh cookout. Behind them some guys are playing cornhole and other games.

Sadly another weekend has come to a close. It's November! I talked to my Mom last night and she already has her Christmas tree up and almost finished decorating it. I'm usually with her but I didn't have the energy this weekend. In my Mom's defense November and December are her busy seasons so she likes to have the house holiday ready so we can rest when she actually has off. I'm leaning towards starting my Christmas decor next weekend. I'm down to 1 present to buy.. now I just need some ribbon and boxes and I should be all set! I know I know.. I'm a litte cray cray but I'm not stressed about making my Christmas list. :)

Have a good Monday Lovies!
