I saw this on Natalie's blog and thought it would be fun. I was going to do a weekend recap but we had a very relaxing yet blog boring weekend. We grilled out, cleaned, ran some errands. Sunday we did head to the DPAC to see Jersey Boys.
My Hubs and I have actually seen this before but his Mom had not. So we gifted her a ticket for her upcoming birthday. We had a delicious lunch at Tyler's and enjoyed the show. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! On to my Four..

Diaper Bags for Twins..

Since the cat is out of the bag, I can finally talk openly on here. Since I don't know what these little monkeys are just yet, I haven't really bought much for them. I'm chomping at the bit patiently waiting to find out the genders before buying too much. So in turn, I'm considering things for myself to get ready. I seriously ordered 4 diaper bags to check out! 4!! I've had a really hard time finding diaper bags in person in my area so I just decided to order my favorites and then decide. I'll return what I don't want. My husband was super annoyed at this. Sorry honey, it's a girl thing!

I had planned to wait but Saks had all their Kate Spade bags $100 off! I couldn't pass up this opportunity.

Kate Spade New York Diamond Quilted Satin Baby Bag- I love how roomy this bag looks. I also love that it looks like a classy tote and not a baby bag.
  • 001

Verdict: I love this bag. It's classic, roomy, and beautiful. Still debating and hoping for input.

Kate Spade New York Polka Dot Francis Baby Bag- I love the polka dots on this one. It's fun and soo me! It's also gender neutral as I still don't know what we're having.

Verdict: RETURN! The fabric is almost like a hard plastic. Totally not what I was thinking it would be. It's going back.

Kate Spade New York Brynne Baby Bag- This one reminds me of the classic Kate Spade. Kate Spade became popular or known to me in early college. A few girls actually purchased baby bags as their book bags. I dreamed of the day I would have one of these baby bags for me and my child of course. :)

  • 001

Verdict: I like this bag too. A little smaller than the quilted one and it's also cheaper than the quilted one but at the end of the day smaller. Decisions.. decisions.. thoughts Mommas??

Skip Hop Duo Double Deluxe Hold it All Diaper Bag- I found this baby on pinterest. It was highly recommended by Mom's of twins. I love that it's a tote. It's not my long lusted after Kate Spade but I'm interested to see the size difference. My one concern is that it says it can hook to a double stroller. We are actually purchasing a tandem stroller so not sure how that will work.

SKIP*HOP® Double Duo Diaper Bag in Onyx Tile

Verdict: I don't hate this one but I'm not in love. I'm trying to be practical but my heart leans towards Kate Spade. Any thoughts? Verdict: I returned this one after I read the fine print that it only fit on double strollers. We have plans as of now to buy a tandem stroller so this one won't work.

+Barrington The St. Anne Diaper Bag- I've seen many people carrying this regular tote. I just discovered they make baby bags. I like that I can customize the patterns, colors, and have it monogrammed! My worry is not seeing this in person. I like to feel the fabrics, check out the size and etc. I'm also worried because it doesn't zip. I'm a clutz and I can just see stuff flying everywhere!

The St. Anne Diaper Bag

Verdict: Unless someone swears by this one, I'm a little too hesitant to pull the trigger since I can't return it.

If anyone has any person experience or input, I would love to hear it! If anyone has something completely different they recommend, I'm open as well. I'll let you know what I end up keeping or decide.. I'm so on the fence I've even debated returning them all until I'm further along. I'll telling you.. I'm a little crazy these days!

Thoughts on Thursday.. SURPRISE!

Happy Thursday Lovies!

It has been killing me to keep a secret these days but let me tell you I have been holding in a good one.. I'm 12.5 weeks pregnant.. with TWINS!!

+ We found out a week before my birthday in February. I woke up that Saturday morning at like 5:30 in the morning to pee and knew it was my usual "test day". I didn't feel any different and almost didn't take a test because I was so tired of seeing negative signs. I then thought if I didn't take it, I would spend all day wondering. So I took one and went back to bed. I laid there a few and then thought, I probably should go check that. I looked and saw the faintest blue line. I ran into the bedroom asking my Hubs to look. Is this a line? An actual line? He was asleep and not really interested in waking up. So I ran back into the bathroom and found a digital test. I took it again (I know you're not supposed to do that). I went to sit it down and go back to bed but before I did I saw the words.. PREGNANT! I ran into the bedroom literally jumping on the bed screaming to my Hubs. I smiled and said- you're not going to go back to sleep now are you? Nope! I was so excited!

+After years of trying I was overjoyed to find that I was finally pregnant. I prayed for years for a baby. We had a couple almosts that really took it's toll on me. But when I found out at 6 weeks that there were not one but TWO babies in there- I cried my eyes out for like 3 days. I cried because I was in shock, I cried because I still have no idea how we are going to afford two little ones, I cried because I wanted this for so long, and I cried because well I just down right overwhelmed. Be careful what you pray for my friends! I'm living proof.

+Did we do fertility? Yes and no. Yes we did IUI or artificial insemination after over a year of trying ourselves with issues. I took trigger shots to time ovulation perfectly. My statistical chances of having multiples.. less than 7%. We opted to not even try IUI with injectables because it barely increased our chances of conceiving and drastically increased our chances of multiples. We decided that we would try 5 rounds of IUI, if that didn't work we would start IVF. We did 4 rounds of IUI before I got pregnant. I went in each time before I did my shot to make sure I had a follicle (soon to be egg) there and mature. I only had one egg per the scan. So when the doctor said it was two babies and they are fraternal?! Only God had his hand in that. Science is stumped. These are truly my miracle babies! Side note- my Hubs and I both have very distant twins in our families but no one close to us.

+I'm absolutely chomping at the bit to find out if these babies are two boys, two girls, or one of each. In a perfect world I would love one of each to experience it but really.. I don't care. I just want to know! I am ready to decorate, register, and pick out some names.

+I am EXTREMELY lucky that I haven't been sick. I have felt some nauseous queasiness. I've been really tired. My allergies and asthma have seriously put me out of commission for almost 3 straight weeks. I still consider myself lucky that I haven't been throwing up so I'll take it.

+ I hope I'm not too annoying but I do plan to do some bump updates. I can't promise them every week but I hope to do the best I can. I only plan to be pregnant this one time so I really want to enjoy it and take it all in!

+ I really miss having my energy. I'm finally (fingers crossed because it's not 100%) turning a corner in the food department. I've literally eaten take out every lunch and dinner for the past 5.5 weeks. The smell of cooking food made me want to gag. I miss exercising and getting things done around the house. By 3pm at work I literally want to put my head down and take a nap. So worn out! I barely made it into work some days. Blog, my household chores, cooking, laundry, and I'm sure a few other things definitely took a back seat. I hope to slowly change that.

Happy Thursday Lovies!

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend!

Time just flies by when you're off. Friday my Hubs had the day off. I unfortunately had to work. We had a concrete walk way poured a few weeks ago. We hope to get it stained to match our patio soon. In the meantime my Hubs planted some plants to liven up our little out door space. He did such a good job!

Friday night we headed to dinner to celebrate of my besties being Teacher of the Year! She chose Tupelo Honey Cafe. It was phenomenal!  I really hate we didn't take a single picture. The food was out of the this world. We all ordered an appetizer to share and by the time our meals came, I had my entire dinner boxed up. It was worth it though. It was also very good leftovers for lunch on Saturday.

Saturday night we celebrated our neighbors birthday. They had a cookout at their house. I know I've said this a million times but we seriously have the BEST neighbors!

Ice cream birthday cake!
The Heather's and the Megan's! Seriously.. there are two Heather's and two Megan's in the this picture. We're missing one of our Megan's. :(. Love these neighbor ladies!

My MIL snapped this quick picture of my Hubs and I as we were heading out on Easter. We had Easter lunch at her house. Our Easter was filled with family time. Lunch in Sanford with my Hub's family and dinner in Louisburg with my family. It was a busy day! I'm dragging here at work today. I hope everyone had a great Easter!

Thoughts for Thursday

Happy Thursday Lovies!

I'm annoyed to report that I'm still coughing myself crazy! I saw my allergy and asthma doctor this past week where I had two breathing treatments and sent home with two steroid inhalers. They wanted to send me home with predisone but I seriously begged my doctor not to. That medicine makes me seriously cray cray. Prayers please that this crap goes away. I would really like to enjoy the nice weather around here.

I did feel up to going to our neighbor's first birthday party. He was a preemie but boy has he grown. His Mom did a super cute job of decorating! The weather was fabulous! I sat outside and watched the Hubs play corn hole and soaked up some sun. Literally this is the only thing I did ALL weekend. Please excuse the iphone pictures but I had to share!

Look at this sweet little face! He was pleased with his smash cake!

I think he approves!

I hope everyone is having a good week. I hope to one day be back to my normal blogging self!

Weekend Recap.. Mom's birthday

Happy Tuesday Lovies! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

These days are flying by and I haven't felt like doing much of anything. Sorry for the lack of blog posting but I've been doing good to make it to work. Some days I haven't even been doing that. Thank goodness for laptops and the ability to work from home! I'm so over this cold/sinus/allergy crap. I'm in the middle of my antibiotics but still not done. I hope to be over this crap ASAP!

This weekend my Hubs was at the beach with the boys. They always go to play corn hole, cookout and watch the ACC tournament. Friday night I had dinner for one my bestie's birthday! Sadly we don't have one single picture to share. We had a yummy dinner at Kanki. Saturday I did absolutely nothing. I went to bed on Friday night around 9:30 and didn't get up until 9:30 the next morning. Sunday was another lazy day. I did manage to get the strength to make a box (nothing from scratch this time) cake for my Mom. I had planned a little surprise dinner a few weeks prior.

Box Pig Pickin Cake I made for her.

Mom opening up her present from my Dad and us. I'm not going to lie.. I'm jealous of her gift. We got her this beauty. She was very excited!

My aunts and my Mom (she's in the blue coat).

Sadly these are the only pictures I took. I wasn't feeling myself and just didn't think about it really. These were snapped while we were waiting to be seated for dinner. Tomorrow is my Mom's actual birthday.. I hope she has a wonderful 60th birthday! You make 60 look fabulous! Love you to the moon and back!

Thoughts for Thursday- Girls Weekend in Boone!

Happy Thursday Lovies!

Time is completely slipping away from me these days. I'm soo ready for Spring it's not even funny! We're supposed to get some ice/freezing rain AGAIN tonight! Between this weather, crazy work because of the weather, and life I've been neglecting this little blog of mine. I hope to be back to normal soon. This weekend I was able to get away for a girls weekend.. it was glorious!

We headed to Boone on Friday despite still having some wintry weather here. We called and Boone was all clear! I was in shock that Boone was actually 10 degrees warmer than Raleigh. We stopped at Casa Rustica for dinner on the way in. We were all starving so it definitely hit the spot!

Sorry for the blurred iphone picture but it's all we had.

Saturday we got up and got our nails and toes done. I love a good manicure/pedicure! We had hoped to stop by a little brunch place but they were closed :(. We did stop at Six Pence Pub for lunch. It was amazing! We were kinda expecting just bar food but it was delicious! We shopped the shops at downtown Blowing Rock before hitting the outlets! After an all day shopping experience we stopped at  The Local for dinner. Their fried plantains and mac and cheese were amazing! Everyone raved about their food.

Sunday we were a little nervous on when to head home because Raleigh had another ice episode. It was 40 degrees and sunny in Boone. CRAZY! I snapped this picture from our balcony. So pretty! We ended up leaving around 10am. The weather was beautiful until we hit Greensboro. It rained the rest of the way home. Oh well, we made is safely.

I can't believe this week is almost over and we're headed for another weekend. Time please slow down! And this ice/freezing rain crap they are calling for tonight.. weatherman please be WRONG!

Have a good Thursday!
