#BREAK YOU MAKE

Happy Monday!

Chobani Flips contacted me about participating in their #BreakYouMake campaign. This is to honor someone in your life that could use a break this summer. I was very honored to be contacted. This is my first kind of post participating in something like this. I immediately knew who I wanted to honor with this post, my Mom. My Mom is super Mom. I can only hope I'm half the Mom she is to our boys. My Mom works full time, keeps up the house, makes dinner 2-3 nights a week, and still finds time to be there for friends, family, and people in the community. She's amazing. She's always thinking of ours before herself. Even when visiting my house she never just sits and chats, she's always trying to help out around the house or do something for me. Literally she comes to visit and my laundry is done, my dishes are clean, and she's done some odd and end things around my house. I don't know how she does it. She's like the energizer bunny!

Perfect Example of how my Mom is daily- My Gender Reveal Party. My Mom volunteered to cook chicken breasts and legs to help my husband out as well baked beans. She gets there, helps me set up, fixes my nieces hair for her dance recital that night, cleans my ENTIRE kitchen and organizes all the leftovers into take home containers for everyone, and then proceeds to clean the rest of my house until I yell at her to come sit a minute. She may drive me crazy sometimes but I'm blessed to call her my Mom. She definitely deserves a break! :) Who in your life deserves a break? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thoughts on Thursday-Rambles

Happy Thursday Lovies!

How is today not Friday yet?! I've seriously been spoiled with 4 day work weeks lately. My mind is all over the place these days so here are some things on my mind.

+ I'm sooo looking forward to our vacation/baby moon next week. Words can not describe how I have been looking forward to it! We're headed to Hilton Head for a few days just the Hubs and I. He's playing golf and I booked a spa day. YAY!

+ We agree on zero on what to name these boys. I am making my Hubs make a list of his top names and I'm doing the same. I figured in the car ride to and from Hilton Head maybe we can narrow down and possibly agree on something. Lord help us! Our vacay might not be as relaxing as I hope.

+ I have absolutely no motivation at work these days. Or on important things for that matter. I want to shop, decorate, and prepare for the babies. I don't want to do anything else. Is that too much to ask?!

+ If I don't slow down on the spending my Hubs has threatened to take away my credit card. I'm usually super anal about spending. I always pay off all credit cards by month end. Right now I have the mind set of it's for the babies or we need to get this done before the babies arrive then it's ok. IDK.. It'll be ok. It's nothing too crazy but definitely out of my norm. I think I'm making my Hubs nervous.

+ We are soo incredibly blessed to have friends and family giving us their hammy down clothes. One of bestie's gave me her son's stuff this week. Holy clothes! Soo blessed but slightly overwhelmed. See why I want to be at home now?

+ Yesterday I had my doctor's appointment. My next appointment is in 2 weeks! How am I already at 2 week appointment (twins have accelerated schedules) times? 7 weeks until I'm at 28 weeks and out of the danger zone. I'll be glad to hit that milestone so I will know if these boys decide to do something crazy they will be ok. They will have to be in the NICU for awhile but they will still be ok. (Mama worries already setting in!)

I know I still have a ways to go like crib skirts, rail bumpers, a rug, rocker, a sailboat mobile, and some other decor but I feel like I'm off to a really good start. I'm so excited to see this room come together for our little guys!

Thoughts on Thursday- Gender REVEAL results and 20 week update

Happy Thursday Lovies!

I apologize for the radio silence over here and for making you wait on the results of our gender reveal. I've been preoccupied shopping and nursery planning. So without further wait...

TWO BOYS are on the way!!

Call it Mother's intuition but I've said from the first trimester that I thought these were two boys. I had a dream- ok a bad dream- but still a dream that they were boys. My Dad used to tell me when I made him mad or did something to cost him money that he hoped one day I had two "MEAN" little boys to pay me back. So I had this dream not longer after finding out it was twins. Fast forward to our ultrasound. We decided to wait and find out with our family. So we turned our heads at the gender scans. When we got in the car, I told my husband that she knew too quickly and it was definitely two boys. He just rolled his eyes at me. Well here we have it!

More gender reveal pictures to come eventually. My MIL was a wonderful photographer but she has all the pictures so I hope to get them from her soon.

Also.. I'm well on my ideas/planning/buying for the nursery. I can't wait to share the details with you soon!

Now my 20 week update..

how far along: 20 weeks!

size of the babies: Size of mangoes! I know that they are officially 11oz each per the ultrasound tech on Friday.

total weight gain: 5lbs overall officially. I haven't weighed this week. I choose to not weigh and leave that up to the professionals. :) I go back to the doctor next week so interested to see what they say.

gender: TWO BOYS!!!

maternity clothes: Yep. Already 100% maternity pants. Some shirts I'm now breaking down and wearing maternity. I'm also pretty much maternity dresses unless they are maxi dresses.

stretch marks: Nope. Starting to itch so I'm sure it's coming.

movement: Random pokes and kicks nothing constant yet. I feel pressure and movement when I've eaten a lot.

sleep: Sleeping is so so..I toss and turn a lot because my hips get sore or I wake up on my back and my legs are numb (fun times!). I also have to pee at least 2 times a night.

missing: A cocktail. It's getting hot here and we went to our club pool. Everyone was drinking rum runners (our bartender at the club is the best at these!). She made me a virgin one but it just wasn't the same. :(
have you told friends/family: Yep! Everyone should know by now. If you see me, you know I'm preggo. Can't hide the bump anymore.

cravings/aversions: STILL.. watermelon- I have been known recently to eat an entire watermelon a day, ice cream, oh and golden oreos.. damn those things. I may or may not have eaten an entire package in a few days.

symptoms: I have to pee ALL the time!

cries: I seriously tear up at EVERYTHING.. no major cries but some close calls.

labor signs: No

belly button in or out: In.

wedding rings on or off: Well.. I say on. My fingers have swollen a couple of times this week since the humidity is out of control around here. I've been able to take them off for a few and put them back on. Who knows how long this will last.

the hubs is: finally sleeping well. After our ultrasound on Friday and the doctor saying we had two perfectly healthy babies we both felt like a weight was lifted. He has been sleeping so much better. Which in turn makes me sleep better.

babies are: six and a half inches long and a 11oz in weight each. The boys are developing more and more with their testicles beginning to descend from their abdomen to their ultimate destination-- the scrotum.

looking forward to: Decorating the nursery and registering! I feel like I've waited eternity to do this. So fun!

best moments: Finding out that we're having two boys!

Thoughts on Thursday- Gender Reveal this Weekend!

Happy Thursday Lovies!

Oh how I've counted down the days, hours, and minutes until the moment we find out what these two monkeys are. Now that the moment is almost here, I'm now starting to worrying and hesitate a bit. I'm not worried about what the genders are but more about the testing. We opted to not do any early screening for genetic disorders. We said early on that if something is wrong that God has a reason and we'll deal with it. So why worry a few extra weeks about something that we can't change?! They are sending me for a level 2 ultrasound tomorrow. I pray that the babies cooperate so that they can measure and examine everything accurately. I pray that God has given us two perfectly healthy babies. I pray that he continues to bless this pregnancy and we have two happy, healthy babies in a few months. I'm a natural worrier, I try not to be but I am. I just hope I can breathe a sigh of relief after my appointment and get back to being excited about finding out the genders.

Now the genders. I have gushed about every scenario.. one of each... sweet sisters.. best buddy brothers.. I don't care. I see the ups and downs of all the scenarios. I will admit that I'm starting to get nervous because these are our first and last babies. We don't plan on having any more children (God and modern science willing). These babies will be our entire worlds. These babies will complete our little family. So I'm excited.. nervous.. and anxiously anticipating the news of what we have been blessed with. We have our ultrasound tomorrow and will find out with our family on Saturday. :)

Who knows if these old wives tales are actually correct but I thought it would fun to try them out before finding out if these little peanuts are a BOY or a GIRL or ONE of EACH! Not really sure how this works compared to one baby but I thought it would be fun anyway.

Chinese Gender Predictor
According to Baby Center, legend says that the gender chart is more than 700 years old and was discovered in a royal tomb. It predicts your baby's sex based on your Chinese lunar age at the time you got pregnant and the Chinese lunar month in which you conceived.

Prediction: BOY

Fetal Heart Rate
This one says if your unborn baby's heart rate is higher, above 140 beats per minute, that means you're carrying a girl. A lower heart rate below 140 bpm means you're having a boy.

Prediction Baby A: 160- GIRL
Prediction Baby B: 168- GIRL

Needle Test
The needle test says to string your a sewing needle with thread and then dangle it over your belly while you are laying down. If it swings back and forth it's a boy and if it swings in a circle it's a girl.

I made my Hubs do this one. It immediately starting going in a circle. Then it stopped and started going back and forth. So weird!

Prediction: GIRL and BOY

Mayan Age and Year Legend
This one works by taking the mother's age at conception and the year of conception. If both are even or odd, it's a girl. If one's even and one's odd, it's a boy.

Age: 31- odd
Year: 2015- odd

PredictionGIRL

Morning Sickness in 1st Trimester
If you have bad morning sickness then it's a girl, if you have little to no morning sickness it's a boy.

Prediction: BOY

Bad Skin Theory
This one says that girls steal your beauty and boys enhance your beauty, so if your face is breaking out and your hair is greasy it's a girl. If your skin is glowing and your hair is thick and voluminous it's a boy.

This one is hard. My hair has actually been better lately. My skin is still breaking out but not any worse or better than it was before pregnancy. People have told me I glow.. I think they're being nice but I'm on the fence on how to answer this one so I'm calling a draw.

Prediction: One of Each

Sleep Position
If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? You'll have a girl.

Prediction: BOY

Food Cravings
Craving salt during pregnancy? Potato chips, pretzels, and popcorn means a boy is on the way. Need a little something sweet? Ice cream, chocolate, and candy mean's you're having a girl.

I first craved anything salty. The more salt, the better. Now I crave a lot of fruit. So I'm calling a draw on this one too.

Prediction: One of Each

Face Weight Gain
If your face gets fuller, you're have a girl.

Prediction: BOY

Dream Meanings
If you dream about having a girl while pregnant, you will wind up having a boy and vice versa.

Prediction: GIRL- I've had several dreams that I have two mean little boys.

Breast Size
If your right breast is larger than the left while pregnant, you're having a girl. If the left is larger, it's a baby boy.

Prediction: BOY

Personal Predictions
I've sorta had nightmares that I'm having two MEAN little boys. Other than that, I really have NO clue. I just can't wait to find out what these little monkeys are! I seriously took Monday off so after we find out I can go shopping! :)

Final Tallies- BOY-8
                       GIRL-7
