the hubs is: so cute to watch. He talks to the boys almost every night before bed which usually means more kicks for me to feel.

babies are: trading in the crown to rump measurement for a new head to toe standard. They should be around 15 inches. Their weights are creeping up the charts and should be coming in at over 2 pounds. Babies may recognize my voice by now.

looking forward to: NO more traveling!! woowhoo!! Being in car for too long is torture so glad we are staying in town until after the boys arrive. This weekend is my first family shower. I'm so excited!

So far behind.. Weekend Recaps..

Happy Monday Lovies!

I never got around to posting about LAST weekend. I'm so far behind on emails, blogging, and everyday life these day, it's not even funny!

Last weekend we drove down to my parents beach house to meet my in-laws to take a few maternity pictures. I didn't want to spend money on maternity pictures but I did want to document this time in our lives because I don't ever plan on being pregnant again. Luckily my MIL takes awesome pictures and has started her own little side business. So win- win for me! Beware of picture overload- sad part is.. I didn't even put all my favorites in this post! I can't decide!!

On our way home last Sunday we stopped to meet some friends for a birthday dinner. Here are a few pictures of us. Love these guys!

Well.. this weekend was "family weekend" with my husband's Dad/step Mom and family. I didn't take one single picture.  Oh well! We survived and I'm glad to say good bye to traveling for awhile. We have plenty of projects around the house that I want to get done before the boys get here.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

wedding rings on or off: They've been off for the most part. My feet and fingers are puffy. Bleck!

the hubs is: starting to realize that time is flying! Keeps saying how crazy it is that they will be here soon.

babies are: weighing 2 full pounds each and measure nine plus inches each. This week their eyes, which up until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there's not much to see in there (maybe their brother?! not sure how that works).

looking forward to: our last trip. Traveling has become rough. The 4th I started to be uncomfortable and it's just gone down hill. This weekend is our last trip out of town and I'll be so glad to be around for awhile.

best moments: Taking maternity pictures. Although I feel like I look huge.. my MIL did an amazing job. I'm so glad we documented these pictures for memories and to show our boys.

Thoughts for Thursday- My Pregnancy Must Haves

It's Thursday! Almost another week made Lovies! I feel extremely lucky in that I didn't feel like I've really need that much during my pregnancy. Well maternity clothes, obviously, and I was super lucky that some friends passed on some great things. All I really purchased was 2 swimsuits, a pair of jeans, and some dresses. I have had a few things that I will say has made my pregnancy life soo much better.
Leachco® Snoogle® Total Body Pregnancy Support and Feeding Pillow in Ivory
The Snoogle is seriously the best investment ever!! I really hated to spend $60 on a pillow but all the reviews were great and I had several friends that highly recommended it. They basically used it in their 3rd trimester but I've used this the whole time! I credit it to my good sleep. My Hubs however.. hates it! He named him Tyrone and wants it out of our bed ASAP. Sorry Hubs.. it's staying until at least when the babies are born. It's my life saver!

The Honest Co. Organic Belly Balm - 3.65 oz Additional View 1
The Honest Company Belly Balm- I have loved this stuff. I started off with coco butter and I hated the smell. I mean made me want to gag (especially in the first trimester). I switched to this and never looked back. I highly recommend it.

+ Maternity dresses. Being pregnant in the summer (and albeit it's still the beginning of it) dresses have been my go to. I've pretty much bought everything from Target and Old Navy. Their prices have been the best and hope to not ever wear maternity gear ever again.. HA!

Tums- I did pretty well until around 22 weeks or so. The heartburn was then for real! I've been taking about 1-2 of these a day and they work wonders!!

I swore before I was pregnant that I would never complain about being pregnant if it ever happened for me. It used to drive me insane when people complained. I seriously wanted to scream at them.. Do you know how lucky you are to be pregnant?! Well my friends.. approaching my 3rd trimester with these twin boys that are above average on their heights and weights.. I get it. Monday was my first almost meltdown. My back hurt, I was sooo tired, it's a sauna around here, the boys were kicking nonstop all day, and I just felt crummy. I cried to my husband that I don't think I will make it until September. September is my personal goal. 38 weeks will be October 5th and my doctor has already said she won't let me go past that date. So here's to hoping the next few weeks are better than this one. Have a cocktail by the pool/beach for me my friends!

25 Weeks

Happy Tuesday Lovies! I'm finally back on somewhat of a normal schedule. As you can see, I'm definitely becoming large and in charge lately. I can even fathom what the next few months.. yes months.. hold. Thanks for following along!

how far along: 25 weeks!

size of the babies: Size of rutabagas!

total weight gain:  15 lbs overall.. I'm sure that # will be up at my next appointment. I'm hungry 24/7 these days!

gender: TWO BOYS!!!

maternity clothes: 100% minus a few maxi dresses that are regular sizes.

stretch marks: Yep- on my hips.. boo!!

movement: lately they like to kick each other. It's crazy to watch my side move.

sleep: Ugh.. lately it's been hard to sleep. These little rascals are ready to kick nonstop when I'm ready to lay down. I move around but it's hard to get comfortable.

missing: Deli meat, raw sushi, and fun cocktails.
have you told friends/family: Yep! Everyone should know by now. If you see me, you know I'm preggo.

cravings/aversions: chocolate ice cream with almonds or blueberries lately. Still watermelon and special K cereal. I've also added ranch dip and sea salt potato chips to that list.

symptoms: I have to pee ALL the time! Heartburn at night can be hectic sometimes now.

cries: I seriously tear up at EVERYTHING. But manage to control it for the most part.

labor signs: No

belly button in or out: I think it's starting to poke out a bit.

wedding rings on or off: On for now. We've had a lot of storms that have cooled things off a bit- thank goodness! So my fingers and feet haven't been swelling like they were the week before.

the hubs is: helping me count down the days now. He's seems to be getting really excited to meet them.

babies are: per the ultrasound on 6/30/15 one boy is 1.7lbs and the other is 1.11lbs. per what to expect- babies are growing by leaps and bounds, reaching 9 inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark. Under their skin, capillaries are forming and filling with blood and by week's end, air sacs (also lined with capillaries) will develop in their lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren't ready for prime time just yet-- but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. And speaking of breathing, their tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal cords are getting ready to roar.

looking forward to: Seeing the nursery come together and our many showers. We have the best friends and family!

not so best moments: I'm definitely starting to feel ALL the pregnancy symptoms now. My back hurts, I basically waddle, I'm starving 24/7 and may or may not be indulging in more junk food than normal all of a sudden, I'm tired and just down right grumpy. I desperately want these babies to bake until week 35 at least but heaven help me I don't know what I will do that far along. It's definitely hard to even bend over. Rolling over in bed leaves me out of breath. Just praying I can make it through without biting anyones head off or having too many meltdowns. Please pray for me! Ha!

24 Weeks!

Happy Friday Lovies! I'm running behind on this post yet again this week. Better late than never I guess. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!

how far along: 24 weeks!

size of the babies: Size of ears of corn!

total weight gain:  15 lbs overall.. It's coming fast these days!

gender: TWO BOYS!!!

maternity clothes: 100% minus a few maxi dresses that are regular sizes.

stretch marks: Yep- on my hips.. boo!!

movement: oh yes.. not constant but they definitely know me they are in there.

sleep: Ugh.. lately it's been hard to sleep. These little rascals are ready to kick nonstop when I'm ready to lay down. I move around but it's hard to get comfortable.

missing: Deli meat and fun cocktails.
have you told friends/family: Yep! Everyone should know by now. If you see me, you know I'm preggo. Can't hide the bump anymore.

cravings/aversions: chocolate ice cream with almonds or blueberries lately.

So my fingers and feet haven't been swelling like they were the week before.

the hubs is: excited. He was super excited to receive two Duke hats for the boys!

babies are: per the ultrasound one boy is 1.5lbs and the other is 1.7lbs. per what to expect- babies are about 8.5 inches long and weight 1.5 pounds each gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of the weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of theirs are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jack hammer. Also by now, those fabulous faces are almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Their locks are actually white right now since there's no pigment yet.

looking forward to: Seeing the nursery come together and our many showers. We have the best friends and family!

best moments: Our shower/party this past weekend. We are so blessed to have such amazing neighbors!

Thoughts for Thursday- Confessional

Happy Thursday Lovies! Today is my Friday.. YAY! I'm super excited to head to the beach tonight for some fun in the sun. Well as much fun as a very preggo person can have. :) I've seen a few of these floating around and thought I would participate. Here we go..

+ Can I just say I'm jealous that via the ultrasound last week and this week that both my boys already  look like their Dad. I mean I do all the work?!

+ I haven't wanted to do a dang thing but shop/plan/decorate for the boys. I am not motivated at work or to do other housework. I have GOT to snap out of it. I also need to STOP spending money!

+ I am trying to deal with my severe OCD/Control freakness. I know that once the boys are here I am going to need to help. I am going to have to let go. I don't even want people to help me decorate/shop/organize anything. I want to do it all. I didn't even let my husband wash or organize clothes. I wanted it done my way. (I was also like this when we moved). They say the first step is admitting your problem. I admit it.. now i need some help with controlling it.

+ Nothing pisses me off more than untimely people. I love my Mother too death but the woman will be late to her own funeral. I'm not talking 10-15 mintues.. I'm talking 45-60 minutes.. seriously annoys the crap out of me!

+ I also have to let go that not everyone is like me and most of my friends. I plan weeks in advance. I think you should respect others time and planning.  I also don't like waiting until the last minute. If I know your birthday is coming up, I'd rather have time to find the right gift and not rush to a store and pick up the first thing and be done. Just not me. I also don't like feeling the rushed/stressed feeling. Again back to my OCD.

+ My Hubs wants to keep the names of the boys a secret until they are born. I go back and forth. I don't mind it but I want to monogram things. If I monogram them then people are going to ask. We just had a lot of opinions and comments when we started discussing names. We FINALLY agree on some that we love and just don't want anyone to kinda ruin that for us. (Why do people do that?!)

+ Is it bad that I have only skimmed one Mommy to be book? I don't want to be clueless but some of those horror stories freak me out. I'm already dreading the labor and delivery part and I'm trying to avoid any additional anxiety. On that note, does anyone have any books that they think I just have to read before the boys get here?

+ I think I want a corset or postpartum belt. The chances of me having a c section are pretty high and  I've heard these help. I've also heard they help flatten your tummy which lords know is going to need all the help it can get. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thoughts? recommendations? I would appreciate it!

+ I need help on deciding on a rug for the nursery. I thought I was set on The Hudson Rug from Pottery Barn but now I'm worried it won't look good in their room. I can't visualize crap! I am worried it will make the room look darker/smaller. I need someone to tell this is the kinda of rug you need and point me in a direction.. sigh!

+ I've been terrible at responding to the sweet comments on my little blog. I've also been horrible at following other blogs lately. I gotta get myself together! I am grateful for the comments! I promise I will get back to you soon. :)
